Baying Hound is a small online store selling unique earth friendly goods.
Our mission is to provide the green producsts customers need to enjoy an earth friendly lifestyle. Our business exists to serve customers, promote eco-friendly practices and use profits wisely.
Baying Hound is based in Columbus OH.
The People:
President Rachel Tayse Baillieul is a life long advocate for the environment. She started her career in science education and taught in public and private schools as well as the community. Rachel has hiked in Alaska, dug for fossils in the Bahamas, and appreciates local Ohio fauna and flora on a daily basis. She is a "locavore", inviting friends and family to cook and eat local foods together regularly. She writes a simple eating and gardening blog, Hounds in the Kitchen.
Vice President Alex Baillieul, a self proclaimed "gear junkie", has tested outdoor gear around the world. Alex cycles around the city and has hiked in terrains as varied as the coasts of Hawaii and mountains of India. A frequent traveler, he searches out new ideas and interesting healthful products. At home, Alex loves to grow vegetables in his urban garden and cook with local foods.
The Dogs:
The name Baying Hound was inspired by Rachel and Alex's rescued Blue Tick Coonhound, Devorguilla. Devie is a blue tick coonhound rescued from Capital Area Humane Society in January 2002. She contributes to the business by alerting us to all deliveries and squirrel invaders with the trademark hound howl.
Hawise is an 8 pound dachshund mix adopted in March 2008. Her job is to entertain guests and test products for the chewability.
